Happy Halloween From the Schmidts

This past weekend we celebrated Carter's first Halloween, the first of many Halloweens that we will get to share with him. This year we had to pick out his costume because he obviously could not tell us what he wanted to be. We opted for a monkey costume. A. because it was uber cute, and he obviously would look super cute in it, and B. because he is our little monkey, ok, not little monkey, big monkey!!

My First Halloween
We started a tradition with my family that we will hopefully continue through the years with Carter and any other cousins that may come along. We went to Boo at the Zoo the night before Halloween. It wasn't anything too spectacular, but it was all lighted up and filled with all different kinds of activities. I mean Carter is only a month old, so there wasn't much we could do with him. The zoo was buzzing with all kinds of monsters, princesses and of course other little monkeys like Carter. It was nice to get to walk around the zoo and just take in thee fact that we have a baby to share this holiday with.

The night of Halloween we started a Schmidt tradition of letting Carter and his first cousin Sloan trick or treat together. They are both too young to really get into it, but we did take them to a few houses around Michael's parents house to show off our little bumble bee and monkey!! We ended the night by eating some chili and hanging out watching little Sloan play!! I cannot wait for Carter to be big enough to play with his cousin, I think she is pretty eager too!

Even though Carter was too little to really get into Halloween this year, we enjoyed getting him all dressed up and taking him out for all the Halloween festivities.
