Hello 2 year old!!!

I CAN.NOT believe that you are 2! It seems like just yesterday we were anticipating your arrival, and bringing you home, watching you learn to crawl, walk and talk. Now you are a running machine, who NEVER stops talking. You have always been an independent little guy, but it seems like the older you get the "more you want to do" things yourself. It makes us proud to watch you learn how to do things, and we of course want to help you as much as possible, but you are quite the doer so it doesn't take you long to figure things out, but with that comes alot of frustration and oh so little patience. Which, I do hope in time you learn that things come, in time.
Along with all that independence you have also have acquired quite the memory. We will say/show/do/teach you something, and you remember how to do/say/show/learn to do it. It is quite amazing! You really only have to be told something once/shown something once and you know it! You are quite a smart little guy, you pretty much amaze us everyday with the amount of things you remember.
You are also a talker. You talk NON.STOP! You have a pretty great vocabulary, and put together sentences quite well. You sometimes repeat what your trying to say over and over until you have it down to exactly what you want to say, and it makes us quite proud of you that you know what your trying to say.
A few of your current favorite things include:
Chuggington- you are actually obsessed with this little show that we stumbled upon before Mason arrived. It has become a favorite of mamas to. I love watching you play with those little chuggers (trains) and interact with them on your tracks. There are so many characters, and you know almost all of them (that's because you own almost all of them).
Besides your trains you are still in love with your trucks, and your cars. You have a ton of both and you love lining them up in the picture window in the living room. You stand there and line them all up and then move them from one side of the window to the other side.
You still love cleaning. Any sort of cleaning. If it's dusting with "Mamas spray," vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, doing the dishes, doing the laundry, and of course folding the laundry; which really just involves you taking the clothes and fluffing them out and then throwing them on the ground. Its cute to watch, but kind of annoying little guy to pick them up when your done.
You are also quite the Mr. Fix It when it comes to anything that is broken around the house. If we get out a screwdriver to fix something you have to get yours or you want one of daddy's to help us fix whatever it is that you needs fixing!
You still love being outside with your daddy working in the yard. You imitate everything he does when you guys are out there together. I.LOVE.IT. You mow when he mows, you use your blower like he does, and when he takes a break you do to.
You have become quite fond of reading and I could not be more happy about it. We read every night in your bed with you and a few of your favorite books include: Little Blue Truck, ABC's of Cardinal Baseball, Shapes-Colors-and Numbers, and of course old trusty I Love You All the Time.
You also love to pray before dinner, which makes your MawMaw and Papa Schmidt (and of course us to), very happy. You are quite cute when you say the prayer and you insist on saying it every night (even though we do, you are quite the enforcer).
You love giving kips (kisses) and bear hugs and you dont give one without the other. It is pretty darn cute!!
You also are oh so IN LOVE with your baby brother. I could not have asked for a better relationship between the two of you. You are constantly wanting to hold him, play with him, and of course give him his binkie when he needs it. It is quite adorable. I love watching you get excited when we put Mason on the ground to play, you immediate get down there with him and play with him and help him swing or help him push his toys. You are obsessed with the fact that he does belly time and you insist on doing it yourself (even when Mason is not around). You are the BEST big brother ever and Mason knows it. He smiles and coos when you are around and you get the biggest kick when he talks. I cannot wait for Mason to get a bit older to see how the two of your are going to interact!! Its gonna be fun!!
You are wearing anywhere from 18-2T clothes, but mainly stick to the 18-24 month clothes. You are a wee one, and only weighed in at 27.10 lbs at your last visit (two year check up). You are still in size 4 diapers, and are wearing size 5/6 shoes. You have shown some interest in the potty chair and have peed twice in there. Sometimes you are more eager than others to sit on there, but nothing comes out!
You are not a great eater at all. You hardly eat. You prefer to take a LONG time eating, and prefer to snack rather than eat a BIG meal. You do still drink a ton of milk and your nighttime wake ups usually involve us having to get you another glass of milk. Your favorite foods include: hotdogs, grilled cheese, mostcacolli, cheese sticks, oranges, corn, pancakes, waffles, cheezits, goldfish, peanut butter crackers, fruit snacks, grapes, apples, strawberries and blueberries.
You are the worst sleeper EVER. You go to bed just fine, but hours later (3-4) you wake up and want to move from your bed to the couch/living room floor. Along with wanting to move you HAVE to have another glass of milk. When I say HAVE, I mean you get so upset if we tell you no. You go back to sleep immediately, but will sometimes wake up 2 more times before it is really time to get up. It is quite tiresome! We are taking the next step of having a sleep specialist tell us what we need to do. Hopefully she/he can help us/you get to where you are not waking up in the middle of the night. You still take a nap and are a good napper. You nap anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours and usually will sleep in your bed if you are home, on the floor if at MawMaw and Papa's or on the couch at the sitter.
You have truly become all boy, and have a bit of a temper when you don't get what you want. BUT, you are also the happiest, sweetest little boy when you want. I love that you still love snuggling with me, and you love giving hugs and kisses. You get so excited when daddy or I get home from work- you run out of the garage and wait for us to get out of our cars. You are truly a little gift from GOD and we are beyond blessed to have you. We cannot wait to see what this next year brings. Keep on smiling little guy, and keep on growing to be BIG and strong!! We love you so much!!
