4 Months Down

This week you will be turning four months old and it is so hard to believe. Where has the time gone????

Height and Weight: Not sure what you are weighing in at or measuring at, because we don't go to the doctor for a few more weeks or so. I can tell you are growing like a weed though, probably weighing in close to around 20 lbs.

Daily: You are the easiest baby ever! You are still very chill (unless your sleepy or hungry), and are content with playing solo, but love when we get down and interact and play with you. You are still getting up in the morning around 6:30 am, and you eat your breakfast (milk), and now we are dabbling in some cereal, so you eat that in the morning now to! You are staying more awake during the day, and take 1-2 naps. When you are home with mommy and daddy on the weekend you usually take a cat nap in the morning, and a nice long nap in the afternoon. You are still going down for nap time pretty easily, unless you take too long of a morning nap, then you are pretty wide awake and it takes you longer to fall asleep in the afternoon. You still need that 30-45 minute in the evening around 530-630. You get really cranky if we don't let you take a quick catnap. Some nights you get pretty fussy and then aren't able to get to sleep because you have yourself all worked up. We have learned that those naps are pretty crucial for you and make a very conscious effort to get you comfortable and in sleep mode right when we get home from the sitters house.

Eating: You are still eating every 3-4 hours during the day (mostly 3) and eating 5 oz at each feeding! We are still nursing about 12-15 minutes on each side, and it takes you about 30 minutes to eat a bottle! You have also started on rice cereal (its been a few days) and you are getting about 3 tbsp a day. You seem to like it, but are still a little unsure of  the texture I think. It's funny to watch you eat it! You are still doing a great job nursing, but have had those few occasions where you act like my breast is the devil and you won't eat. That usually entails us taking a break and then trying again a few minutes or so later. I think its during those times that you are tired and just not in the mood to nurse. It makes nursing not fun when we have those moments, but thank god they are few and far between.

Bedtime: We are still pretty religious with your bedtime schedule and have had very few hiccups with your sleep routine. You eat dinner anywhere from 630-730 pm, and this now includes some rice cereal (1 tbsp-1.5 tbsp) and we put you down promptly at 8 pm.You are still swaddled up and can get out of it, if we leave you in your bed too long awake, but other than that most mornings you are still swaddled up when I get you up in the morning. You sleep from 8-630 on most days, on a few occasions you have gotten up in the middle of the night around 330, but usually go right back to sleep. Now, there was that one time that you woke up at 3 am and refused to go back to sleep till about 430 am. No idea what that was about, but it has only happened once (thank god). You don't fully rely on that binkie in the middle of the night, which makes me happy, because I don't want to be getting up every hour to put it back in your mouth. Usually if it is out of your mouth it stays out. When you get up in the morning you are the happiest baby ever. I need to videotape what you are like because it is so stinkin' cute. You are always smiling and light up whenever I come in the room to get you up. When you wake up, you don't cry either, you usually just lay in the bed and talk to your self till I come in there!

Sizes: You are still in 3-6 month clothes, mostly 6 months and are fully rocking the 6 month pjs  You are still wearing size 1-2 diapers by Huggies, I think it might be time to go up in the size. Your little leg rolls are making me think it is time!

Milestones: You are still the happiest baby ever and love to smile. You love when we tickle you and when we talk to you from across the room or up close. You still love your little neck blown on and gett he biggest kick out of your daddy. He can pretty much make you laugh on command. You are more active with your play mat these days, and can really hold on to, shake and put in your mouth all your hands on toys. You still love your swing, but are getting to be a little daredevil in it, you are trying to sit up, which means I either need to stop putting you in the swing or buckle you in! You try really hard to sit up and prefer to sit facing the world, rather than on your back. You love sitting in Carters big chair and will just sit there and watch the TV or watch your brother play. You can roll over from your back to your front, and are trying very hard to roll over from your back to your belly. You get on your side but can't seem to get over that arm of yours. You have dabbled in your exersaucer for the first time this week, but haven't seemed to excited to play in it. I think it might be the overload of all the toys, plus you have to stand up and play! I think soon enough you will love it just like your brother did, but until then we will keep you occupied with all your other toys you have laying around!

We Love you,
Mom and Dad
