Well, you are all probably wondering where I have been the past three months. At first I thought I was going to end my blogging on Carter's first birthday, since I had been blogging all through the pregnancy and all through his first year. So, I had opted to not make any posts since then. Well, here I am eager to get back on board. I will try really hard to keep this thing up to date, and I have a little bit of incentive and drive to keep it going!!!
So as a quick recap for the past few months:
Carter is a walking machine and has been non stop since he started. He has even picked up a little speed and is now running. It is so funny to watch him. He is such a big boy!! He cracks me up when he gets back down on the floor an crawls, because he looks like such a big kid!!
es me
He is working on talking, and he does say quite a few things, but they aren't things he says over and over. He will say them once or twice, and then move on to something else. He does scream Da-Da-Da-Da over and over and over all the time. Which is funny, but sometimes makes me sad because he says it ALL the stinkin' time; especially in the morning when he wakes up. He will scream da-da-da even though I am the one who gets him up, because Michael is already off to work. Oh well! Besides the saying of many new words, you mumble and talk alot to your self and to us. Even though we have no idea what you are saying, you are so animated when you talk and you just keep going. Its pretty cute!
You are a great eater, and are becoming more and more open to new foods! EXCEPT veggies, you still don't like them, at ALL!!! You occasionally are using a fork and spoon to eat, but have not figured out to get the food to stick to the fork. We are working on it, but for now I will keep helping you put the food on it! You are loving your whole milk, and drink about two big cups a day. You are sleeping through the night, on most occasions. (we got those teeth sprouting in), and are napping still twice a day. For some odd reason, you have decided that at anywhere from5-530 in the morning you are either up for the day or just want to come snuggle with mommy and daddy in our bed, but you only lay there for about 20 minutes, then we put you back in your bed and you are fine. Probably a bad habit that we are working on breaking, but it seems as though you either wake up from a bad dream or you just are ready to get up. I need to just let you cry it out and try to go back to sleep but you seem to really be upset so, I always just get you out of the bed. You nap once in the morning- anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and in the afternoon you almost always nap at least 1.5 hours. You are now in size four diapers, and still rocking mostly size 12 month clothes (still weighing in at 23 lbs) and some 18-24 month clothes.
You are becoming very animated with alot of things, and you love repeating what we do. You make the cutest little fish faces, you blow your little lips together to make bubbles, you love waving bye, and lately have been doing the baseball ump sign for "safe" (you walk around the house aimlessly doing it), you can point out all the family members (you have actually been doing this for a long time now) and love looking at their pictures, and you are learning how to point out your body parts (you can do eyes, nose, ear, teeth, and belly button). You can stack your rings very effectively now, and we are working on putting the puzzles together, and putting the shapes in the shape sorter. You aren't fully there yet; but we have time! You love brushing your teeth and anytime we are in the bathroom you are looking for your toothbrush or even mommy and daddy's so you can brush those pearly whites of yours.
You love reading your books, and still have your favorites "I love you all the time," "Hugs all the time," and the new one "Five Little Monkeys." Every night we sit down and read a few books, and you always seem to pick these out. We have read "I love you all the time" since you were teeny tiny, and now the book is falling apart, you don't care though, you love reading about mama bear, and her baby bear!
Speaking of pearly whites, you got five teeth that came in right after your first birthday and boy are they cute! It is so weird to see you with a mouth full of teeth!!! The only bad apart about those super cute teeth is that they are still slowly coming in and giving you trouble at night. Which means you do wake up occasionally and are upset, we think those teeth are just giving you too much trouble!
You have changed so much over the past three months, it is hard to believe that you are going to be 15 months old! We are loving everything that you are doing and you seem to still be one very happy little guy!!!!
We have celebrated your first "grown up" Halloween and Thanksgiving, and are prepping up for your first "grown up" Christmas! We are looking forward to the excitment that I am sure is going to take place over the next few weeks as we prepare for putting up our tree, visiting Santa, and of course Christmas morning!!
Besides Carter (because oddly enough we do have a life outside of being parents), things are going really good with our family. We are staying busy with work, Michael started a new job right before Thanksgiving, and life is just going great! We are looking forward to the upcoming holidays and of course to the new year!! I don't know how life could get any better right now!!
Till next Time-
J
