Height and Weight: Little Guy you are 19.9 lbs (85th percentile) and 28.5 inches long (97th percentile). You have the cutest little rolls and some adorable cheeks that I just LOVE LOVE LOVE kissing!
Daily: You are quite the early riser (not like your mama at all), you get up anywhere from 5:45-7 am. We usually do your feeding right when you wake up cause you are one hungry little boy!!! Then we usually play and then eat your breakfast (cereal and banana-usually mixed) and then play some more! You usually go down for a nap around 9 or so (sleeping anywhere from 1-3 hours still), sometimes earlier depending on what time you get up. You play some more, eat some lunch and then usually go down for an afternoon nap (again ranging anywhere from 1-3 hours). You still like to be laid down around 530-630 for a quick nap, and then you usually eat dinner and then go to bed!
Eating: You are still eating every 3-4 hours during the day (mostly 3) and eating 5 oz at each feeding! We are still nursing and you are still doing a very good job. But, boy do you get frustrated when there is no more milk left. You are nursing about 10 minutes on each side, and it takes you about 30 minutes to eat a bottle! We have dabbled in a lot over the past month when it comes to baby food. I am making most of your food and like with your brother, you are loving it all! We have tried apples, bananas, pears, a mixture of fruit, peas, green beans, sweet potato, squash, carrots and a few different mixed baby foods. You also eat cereal in the morning with a little bit of fruit, and you are eating rice cereal as well. Sometimes you get the rice at lunch and dinner, but it depends on how your belly is that day (tends to get you constipated). You get anywhere from 2-3 tbsp of cereal and 1/4 of a banana in the morning, lunchtime you get about 2-3 tbsp of fruits and 2-3 tbsp of veggies, dinner time you get rice cereal 2-3 tbsp, 2-3 tbsp of fruit and 2-3 tbsp of veggies. You don't always eat everything that we make for you, but most of the time you do. You are a growing little boy.
Bedtime: You still like to go to bed pretty early (which we are not a fan of, but you do sleep through the night so we are ok with it until you do otherwise) usually around 7-8 pm.Sometimes we don't even get our last nursing session in, because you are too fussy and just want to go to bed. You still go down at bedtime very easily without any tears. The first couple weeks of this month you were causing some wholly terror with your sleep, we couldn't figure out what it was because you would wake up and just be upset. So we would have to rock you, put your binkie back in and then you would go back to sleep. We figured out what the issue was (you missed your swaddle) and it fixed the problem right away!! So, you can stay in that swaddle as long as you want, as long as you are happy and sleeping, we are happy and sleeping!! Over Christmas Ma-Ma Cathy got you a really cute sleep sound machine buggie and you love it. I lay it right next to your little head and its belly lights up and sings you a little lullaby. It has been a go to item since we got it. Good call MaMa! We let you have a swaddle blanket in bed with you and you seem to like it. You do occasionally do some rolling over and around in the bed, but most of the time you are just laying there on your back all wide eyed and bushy tailed come 530-6am, all nice and happy!!
Milestones: You still rock our little world with those infectious smiles, and those to die for giggles. You are mainly a very happy little guy, but, you dont like to be left alone to play very often. You like for us to sit in the rom with you and keep you entertained, or just watch you. The second we leave the room you tend to get fussy. You love to play sitting up, YES, sitting up! We usually put a few pillows around you and you sit up and play with your toys. You also have done alot of rolling over from back to belly this month! You have been busy!! You love your bouncer, and make a ton of noise crashing around in it. You have figured out that certain toys make noise and you love beating on them. You are quite a site in it. You have shyed away from the playmat, and are really just into sitting up and exploring what the world around you has to offer. When you do lay down, you lunge forward to try and sit up. You can't do it on your own, but Im sure you wish you could! One day little buddy, one day! You are a bubble blowing machine and love to make as many noises as possible. And.. talking... you love to talk/scream/yell out loud, your dad and I are always looking at each other and saying, "Is this Kid serious?" You just love to make noise, its pretty cute! But, I think it means you are going to be a talker like your brother, and he never stays quiet, so I am sure we are in some future trouble. You love your little (big) feet, and play with them and kick them often. You love blowing bubbles. You love sitting in your rocking chair and watching Super Why (only because insists that you like it), but your favorite show to watch is Chuggington. You just smile and laugh every time the show comes on, or if we sing the chorus to you. Which leads me to say, that you love to be sang to. Any song works for you. You just smile and bat those sweet eyes when I do. You also like to dance around the living room with me, when your brother allows it (he usually hogs me when it is time to dance-Sorry kiddo). You love to be held, and I mean love! You are snuggle bug and when you are really tired you put your little head on my shoulder and it melts my heart! You still love to be undressed and you are oh so ticklish. Those armpits, your neck and little thigh rolls just love to be tickled. Your big brother LOVES to tickle you. He thinks you want it done all the time, so if you don't, again, I'm sorry. This month you have learned to love bath time even more, you start smiling every time we get you "nakey nakey" and put you in the tub with your brother. He has learned how to help wash you, and tends to get water in your face, but, boy he loves to help! You sat up in the tub with him for the first time this week and I know you are going to love splashing around. You were a little hesitant as ti what you were in, but you loved it! You jsut starred at the water like crazy!
You are still the light of our eye, and are the happiest, most loveable baby ever. You have made the past five months pretty easy on us.
Till next time-
J
