Ta-Ta-Ta TWO already?

Mace,

Where has the time gone?? I cannot believe that we are already rounding month number two and into month number three. It is crazy to think that you are 9 weeks old and growing like a weed. How can I stop the time? I do not remember time going by so fast with Carter. I am trying to just soak in every little minute, snuggle, smile and laugh from you as I can.

Two months old

Height and Weight: Today you weighed in at 15.2 ounces and measuring in at 25.5 inches!!!

Your growing like a weed!!! You got four shots today and took them like a champ!! Cried for a few minutes then were back to being your happy self!!

Daily:  You are a pretty laid back little guy. You wake up anytime from 730-800 am and will eat your morning breakfast and then you like to play a little bit with your brother, and you usually go back to sleep around 930 or so. You like to be snuggled up in your swaddle and either swing (which you love to do) to sleep or lately, we have been putting you down for a regular nap. When you do take regular naps in your bed you sleep for quite a few hours! You love your room, and you will go down (normally) awake and without a fuss. You nap anywhere from 1.5 hours to 3 hours and then eat again, play some more and then usually go back to sleep! You LOVE to sleep. Sometimes it worries me because you sleep so darn much. You have lately though, been staying up a little more in the afternoon (unless we snuggle on the couch together and fall asleep).

Bedtime: From day one we have pretty much had a routine for you when it comes to bedtime. Since your brother is not a great sleeper we thought we better work hard to make you a good one.  You eat anywhere from 730 pm - 9 pm and will then immediately get changed into your pjs and swaddled up (you love to be swaddled) go to bed (awake or asleep) after you eat. Most nights we put you down about 830 or so. You sleep mostly through the night- till about 430-530 am, then will wake up to eat again, then you go right back to sleep till about 730-8. There are those few random nights (becoming more frequent) that you will sleep till about 630 or 7 am, which obviously for mama are amazing. But, I will take those 430-530 wake ups as long as you go back to sleep!! There have been a few nights you have woken up at about 2 am to eat, but those are so random I don't even think twice about them! Let's keep it that way though, please!!

Eating: You are a little piggy when it comes to eating!! You are still doing a great job nursing, a bit more distracted the past couple of weeks, which can be frustrating. I have just learned that when you become distracted, we take a break and chat and giggle, then go back to feeding! You nurse almost every 3-4 hours during the day (unless sleeping)  for about 15 minutes on each side and eat 5 oz when given a bottle. You are a bit of a gassy one, and so sometimes we have to give you some gas drops/gripe water to help you get comfortable! They seem to work pretty well, because soon after that you are more comfortable and relaxed (and usually falling asleep, ha).

Sizes: You have officially outgrown the 0-3 month stuff and are rocking 3 months, and 3-6 month clothes. Pants are a bit long, but we just roll them up!! There are so many things you did not get to wear in 0-3 months, which makes me sad to think you are growing so fast, but you have a ton of other clothes to get you through!! I do think you might be ready for bigger pjs, because all those cute Carters brand 3 months you have are a little snug. Not because you are a chubs, just because you are so long! You are rocking what Huggies calls the size 1-2 diaper. It seems to do your size just  fine!

Milestones: Not many milestones this month. You are just one happy little guy and the easiest baby in the world (well I think so) and so darn easy to please!!! You constantly smile and occasionally make what sounds like a giggle. You also have started "talking" a little bit, which is super cute! You also really know who mom, dad and your big brother are and immediately smile or stop crying when you hear our voices or see our faces. You love your binkie, but do not need it to sleep. Boy can you launch that thing- it goes from your mouth to far places in a quick second. You haven't really started playing with your toys yet, but enjoy the play mat and love the mobile on your swing.

Side Notes: Your brother is pretty much obsessed with you and will drop whatever he is doing if I have  to get you up or pick you up. He wants to play with you on your playmat, and wants to give you "kips" all the time. He loves holding you, and loves to take pictures with you. He has never tried to be mean to you, and really just tried to take care of you whenever mom and dad are doing what needs to be done for you. He now has decided he wants to be helpful by your putting your binkie back in your mouth- I apologize for this if it hurts! He is just pretty much over the moon for you and I know he is going to take good care of you and watch your back if ever needed! All of this makes me so happy and overjoyed that you he loves you so much, he really is a great big brother and I love watching you two together!

Till next time
J
